Biography
Katie Sullivan is a lyric coloratura known for her light silvery vocal quality and delicate musical sensitivity. Comfortable in both opera and golden-age musical theater, a few credits include Hanna Glawari (The Merry Widow), Elle (La Voix Humaine), Marian Paroo (The Music Man), Johanna (Sweeny Todd).
After a hiatus from singing from 2018-2021, Katie has recently returned to the stage in her new home state of Utah in Utah Opera's productions of Der Fliegende Holländer (Wagner), The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs (Bates), La Bohème (Puccini), and Sweeney Todd (Sondheim).
Katie enjoys performing opera, concerts works, jazz, and selections from some of the 20th century's greatest contemporary song writers. During the summer of 2021, Katie performed a solo concert of showtunes from Sondheim's Dick Tracy and contemporary hits from Carole King.
Katie holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Vocal Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory at California State University, Long Beach, and pursued post-graduate studies in Vocal Performance & Pedagogy at James Madison University.
